It should be able to unlock all WD passwords as long as the firmware of the drive can be read by the tool.
I don't know how the function to unlock the passwords is implemented but even if it doesn't automatically remove passwords on newer drives with SA access restriction when ATA password is set and drive is locked you can use some tricks to bypass the security, gain access to modules and remove the password by hand.
Same applies to WDR with the exception of module enumeration by reading from the drive on newer modules. It should work ok on WDMarvell while WDR will fail to do so.
