Dear board members,
After non-heavy use as a backup device in a Toshiba housing this HDD didn't spin up after turning on. No sound at all.
I have an exactly similar replacement controller print 2060-701474-002 Rev A. The seller of this print told me I had to desolder the Marvell 88i6745-TFJ1 chip from the patient and solder it on the donor board to have the unique disk settings on the donor.
Unfortunately I don't have the tools to desolder and solder this chip without destroying everything. I also don't know someone who can.
Is it possible to read the unique ROM settings from the patient and flash them into the donor by software so I don't have to do invasive surgery?
Which tools would you recommend and which settings are needed on the donor?
Thanks so much for your help,
